FABS-FILIPINO AMERICAN BASKETBALL of SEATTLE
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. ELGIBILITY:
A) Must be a Filipino or Filipino descent
B) Must be 35 years or over
(Proof of eligibility required, i.e. driver?s license)
2. GAME RULES:
Current High School rules some modification, as specified below.
a) Time Period: Each half will be played 21-minute running time with a 5 minutes break at half time. Time will only stopped for team and referees Timeouts, injuries and last two minutes of the second half for every infraction, such as foul shots, traveling, foul, out bounds, etc. in case of tie after regulation time expired, there will be a 2-minutes (stop time) overtime, if the score is still tied the 1st overtime, then we start the 2nd overtime with a ?jump ball?, and the team who score the first 4 points ore more wins the game.
b) Timeouts: Each team will be allotted two 30 second timeout for each half and one 30-second time out for each extra period cannot be carried over to the next period.
c) Time Fouls: ? One and one? penalty shot will be awarded on the 7th team fouls per half and two shots will be awarded on the 10th team foul per half, carried over to overtime (s).
d) Technical Fouls: Technical fouls will be assessed as personal fouls Two points (no need to shoot free throws) and possession of the ball, will be awarded to the opposing team.
3. GAME FORFEITURES:
a) Team fails to field at least four players for the opening tip-off. There will be a 10-
Minutes grace period.
b) Team with less than 4 players left on the floor during game due to disqualification and
Or injuries.
4. TIE-BREAKER:
a) Head to head competition
b) Division games
c) Quotient system
d) Point system
5. Required Uniforms:
Two Points will be awarded to the opposing team for every player not wearing the FABS-provided uniform during the game.
6. OFFICIATING:
Referees for all games shall be members of duly recognized basketball referees association in this area. If an appointed referee(s) fail to show up The game in question may be played provided both team opposing team captain mutually agree prior to start of the game for all alternate referee(s). Such a contest will recognized as an official game.
7. REFEREES DICISION IS FINAL:
Any contested call made by the referees will be settled during the game. If a call is contested, referees? time out will be called. The referees may confer between themselves, with the scorekeepers, timekeepers or any committee members present before making a FINAL. No protest related to the contested call or the decision made will be entertained
8. DISQUALIFIEL FROM THE PLAYOFFS:
A team who forfeited a minimum four- (4) game in the regular season will be automaticaly disqualified from the playoff.
9. CODE OF CONDUCT:
Unsportsmanlike conduct is not tolerated in this league. Physical or verbal action, i.e. throwing the ball; bad mounting, players; use of obscene language or gesture, etc. that interrupts the flow of the game are a violation of the league of the spirit of the league and are sufficient group for technical foul called by the referee without warning. Physical confrontation is strictly prohibited. Individual who directly cause physical injury, like punching or kicking a player to the floor automatically ejected by the referee and banned from the league. No appeal process is available.
10. PLAYING TIME
FABS recommended that each player be given the chance to a player a minimum of ten (10) minutes per game.
11. INDIVIDUAL AWARD:
A player must have played a minimum of six- (6) game in the regular season to be eligible for any of the following award.
Most 3-pointers made (total, no minimum games played required)
Most Assists
Most Rebound
Most Points
Best Guard
Best Center
Best Forward
Regular Season Most Valuable player
Playoff most Valuable Player
